Biofertilizer Development

Harnessing nature's own soil engineers for sustainable agriculture.

We isolate, characterise, and formulate elite PGPR strains (nitrogen-fixers, phosphate solubilizers, and biostimulants) into field-ready biofertiliser products that boost yield while reducing chemical dependency.

From Soil to Seed

We combine classical microbiology with modern genomics to identify, enhance, and formulate microbial consortia that improve nutrient availability, plant growth, and stress tolerance.

🔍 1. Strain Isolation & Screening

Rhizosphere and endophytic bacteria are isolated from healthy crops and screened for N-fixation, P-solubilisation, IAA production, and antagonism against phytopathogens.

🧪 2. Consortium Formulation

Compatible strains are combined into synergistic consortia with optimised carrier materials (peat, biochar, or alginate) for extended shelf‑life and field efficacy.

🌾 3. Field Validation & Scale‑Up

Multi‑location field trials under varied soil and climatic conditions, with agronomic recommendations for commercial deployment.

Current Highlights

  • ✓ Two novel Azospirillum strains with high nitrogenase activity under low‑N conditions.
  • ✓ Co‑formulation with Bacillus spp. that enhances phosphorus availability by 30% in alkaline soils.
  • ✓ Ongoing multi‑season trials with ICAR‑networked farms for wheat and pearl millet.
